EDUCATE, EMPOWER, ENGAGE

The Passion Project Initiative’s mission is clear but it’s not easy. We create platforms that cultivate social change through education empowerment and community engagement. With our joined efforts, we develop and facilitate purposeful dynamic events and educational programs that empower our youth and the members of our community. We utilize our platforms to raise funds to support our non-profit organization partners who offer youth tutoring services, financial literacy, and STEAM programs. It’s through these pillars of action, derived from our mission, that we seek to create a world that is better not just for us, but for every generation after us.

It’s our world and it’s our responsibility to help make it a better place for our children. That’s what we’re passionate about.

That’s our Passion Project.

MEET OUR FOUNDER

Mother, wife, education activist, social change advocate, businesswoman, and many other words could be used to describe Octavia Edwards, but none of them would fully capture her passion and drive. The oldest of nine children, Octavia has always been passionate about making the world a better place, and she has always been a leader who took initiative to be the change she wants to see. That leadership found purpose when she became passionate about becoming more involved as a parent in the Social Studies standards in the South Carolina education system. Octavia led a presentation on Cultural Competency and discuss the importance of educating students to be independent thinkers. Octavia's presentation captured the hearts and minds of educators and administrators to become more aware of cultural backgrounds, gain more knowledge of different cultural practices and ways to effectively connect with students across different cultures. This wasn’t just for her daughters, but for the children of others, to ensure they had the opportunities that come with knowledge. Since that beginning, Octavia has tirelessly worked to empower others and engage in her community through speaking engagements and programs to help drive forward progress for social change in our world.
